My Stainless Steel filter is dripping very slowly.  What should I do?

Typically a thorough reverse water flush under the tap (with the cone inverted and pointing up) will do the trick to dislodge any recently lodged grounds.  A thorough wash with mild detergent also seems to work pretty well.  Finally, if those two methods don't work, remove the silicone grips, and place the filter in a heated oven.  This typically "burns" up any coffee grounds and does the trick.

The second reason why some filters start to clog is because the water used to make the coffee is hard water.  Hard water is an issue in several Canadian cities, and calcium magnesium (the white stuff around faucets) tend to build up over time.  A good soak in vinegar should solve this problem.  Boiling the filter in baking soda water also works!

Stainless Steel Pour Over Coffee Filter

Do you need a paper filter in addition to the stainless steel filter?

No, and that's the best feature of this filter. It has a dual filtration system - an ultra-fine woven mesh filter on the inside, and a laser precision cut filter on the outside - specifically designed to brew at the optimal time for a good cup of coffee without trapping any oils or nutrients.

Can the filter and the stand be placed in the dishwasher?

Yes! The filter is made of food-grade stainless steel and it is safe in the dishwasher. We do recommend that you give your stainless steel filter a quick rinse in the sink to shake out most of the grinds before you place it into the dishwasher.

What is the best size coffee grounds for this filter?

The best grounds to use are medium to medium-fine, although we recommend you experiment with your favourite coffee to reach your optimal flavour profile. Some people like their coffee with a lighter flavour, and some people prefer their coffee darker and richer.

How do you properly wash the stainless steel filter?

After each use, rinse the dripper upside-down under some warm-hot water - even before putting it into the dishwasher.

Then, using a gentle soap, wash the filter.

If you are not placing your filter into the dishwasher, you can simply dry it on a drying rack.

Once every so often, soak the filter in some white vinegar after you have rinsed it of coffee grounds.

Is the stand removable?

Yes it is. You can use the stand with the dripper or separately, and the stand fits over your favorite cup or travel mug.

How long will this filter last?

The filter is made out of food-grade stainless steel, so with proper care, it will last several years!

Pocket Drip Filters

What size cup is this filter most compatible with?

You can use most cups as long as the opening is not ultra-wide.

How do you use the pocket drip filter?

The filter has a simple design. Pull away the tabs from the filter to open it up. Hook the anchors over the top of your mug and make sure it is secure. Add about 2 tablespoons of your favorite ground coffee to the suspended filter. Pour 6 oz. of boiling hot water over the grounds slowly to allow for the coffee grounds to bloom and drip.

For the stainless steel pocket drip filter, once all the water has been poured over the coffee and it has finished dripping, you can rinse the coffee filter under warm water, and place to dry for the next use.

For the paper pocket drip filter, once all the water has been poured over the coffee and it has finished dripping, you can discard the coffee filter and grounds in your compost, just like a tea bag!

What is the filter made of?

The paper pocket drip filters are made of similar material as tea bags - with a fancy new design twist for drip coffee on-the-go!

The stainless steel pocket drip filter is made of 304 food grade stainless steel.

What can I use this filter for?

This easy, light, and convenient filter can be taken anywhere with you! You can use them in the office, camping, traveling, and even at home. Simply pack a few filters with you and some coffee grounds and you are good to enjoy your favorite cup of coffee wherever you are.
